It is a tremendous help to study how professional screenwriters take their characters along their journey from point A to Z. Now turn to your central conflict and start visualizing its major turning points on your line.
Spread the net wide, however, and submit wherever your short story meets guidelines and topical preferences. This time it reads "Do not enter. To return to one of my favorite analogies, we might say outlining is creative while structuring is logical. Even if you are writing a factual account, shaping it like a story in this way will hold the attention of the reader.

This is why your outline needs to begin with a tightly crafted premise sentence that can answer the following questions: Many novelists like the idea of sitting down with their laptops and letting ideas waft over them, then snatching them as they pass and molding them into a story.
Keep asking and answering until you completely fill out your structural checklist. From exploring the Story Maps Gallery, you may already have a good idea of which app template will work best for you. What seeming victory will occur right before the low moment of the Third Plot Point. Finally, figure out the purpose of each chapter within each section.

If you cannot keep your summary focused enough for one to two sentences, that may mean that your ideas are not focused enough to get started on your outline so if you find yourself in that situation, I would suggest going back to the drawing board and brainstorming more before continuing this process.

Though these skeletal outlines are usually big picture plot points, depending on your outlining style you can adapt this to include specific chapters, scenes, and even paragraphs.
